Experience
Sharon has over 35 years experience working with individuals, small and large organizations, non profits and municipalities in accounting and accounting management positions.
Sharon began her career as an accountant working in organizations and then became a Certified Public Accountant with the goal of providing public accounting services using her thorough understanding of the challenges faced in running a business every day and managing the accounting, cash flow, and related staffing needs.
Sharon has experience in accounting for various types of businesses and organizations including contractors, landscapers, restaurants, law firms, non profits, school districts, service stations, insurance agencies, rental properties, retailers, recreation, childcare services, and delivery services. She has implemented and managed many accounting software packages including AS400, Sage 50, Quickbooks desktop and Quickbooks online, managed risk management services, provided trainings on accounting and accounting software matters, written procedure manuals, and supervised/hired/managed staff, as well as developed budgets, written and managed state and federal grants and related reporting, taught college business and finance courses, and managed payroll and benefit functions.
Sharon serves clients in Vermont and Alabama in person and virtually as she splits her time between her residence in Vermont and her second home in Reeltown, Alabama to spend time horseback riding and with family in both states. Note that there is not a physical office location in Alabama, so in person meetings have to be scheduled at a mutually agreed upon location.

Kendra Stearns Petty has joined the firm as a Staff Accountant in 2025. Kendra has a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Communications from the University of Kentucky, has completed the Accounting Bridge program at Auburn University, and is currently enrolled in the Master's in Accounting program at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama.
Kendra lives full-time in Alabama and works with bookkeeping, payroll processing and reporting, and individual income tax return clients, and manages website and email communications.
